A forward that I received grom an unknown number. Asks the most pertinent questions to AAP party, which campaigned to bring about a revolution; people believed them and gave them a thumping win! The basic fact is ...... Can they deliver? So here goes the forward ........
Our congratulations to AAP & all AAP voters. We wish the incoming CM, Bhagwant Mann, our sincere wishes and best of luck.
But apart from just luck we sincerely look forward to his *vision beyond the freebies* to get Punjab it's rightful place as a leader amongst other states, and not just a dissenter.
*Punjab has already shown it's power of dissent. Now it's the time to display the power of positive action.*
Almost everyone in Punjab initially opposed the Farm laws, till it was too late to understand what was happening, so the first and foremost responsibility is to *show the road map* as to how the conditions of the farmer will be ameliorated.
*FARMER ISSUES:* How will Punjab come out of Wheat-Paddy cycle ? How will this water guzzling, and soil polluting farming pattern be reversed ? How will the farmer be released from the exploitative stranglehold of the rich & powerful Artiyas ? How will crop diversification be implemented ? If Kurukshetra or an entire state of Sikkim could implement organic farming, *why can't a Punjabi voter get healthy and organic food ?* How will Punjab be saved from desertification as warned by experts from world over including P.A.U Ludhiana ? How do you propose to double the farmer's income ? How do you ensure that powerful Artiyas stop misusing "Kisan" tag for themselves and divert black money/ not pay their tax dues ?
*FUNDAMENTALISM & KHALISTAN* It is one thing to have pride in one's own community or caste or pedigree, but what about others ? Can their be discrimination based on religion? An undercurrent of superiority before Hindus, if not intolerance against Hindus, has been palpable, and now Nihang Sikhs are seen desecrating Shiva temple. How will the Punjab Govt tackle these issues, which have degenerated from "socially bad" habits to "law and order issues" ? Also, the question of rapid conversions - primarily from Dalit Sikhs to Christians has further vitiated the atmosphere.
*LAW AND ORDER* Elections in UP and other states showed that people prefer a stringent law and order enforcement. Police needs to be people friendly yet harsh on the corrupt people, mafias and gundas. How can Punjab Police protect its people and disallow destruction of public property.
*INDUSTRY* Industry has become a joke in Punjab. Where will the employment come if the industry doesn't perform ! Punjab has had extremely poor advisors on this front too for last three decades. *One "advisor" recently proposed to "purchase" freight trains in order to boost Industry !* In a revenue starved Punjab which can't pay Salaries. Another Classic : winner candidate of AAP from Mohali is a powerful land Mafia who owns JLPL Industrial Park on the prestigious Airport road; *and this gentleman wouldn't even allow entry of all internet BB players into his Industrial Area!* Cables of BSNL are often cut allegedly by his people. Other reliable players can't even gain entry !! And AAP is showing the pipedream of Industrial revival !!
*CORRUPTION & OTHER SOCIAL EVILS* It needs men of very strong character to handle these issues. *Saying NO to these would require leaders to follow the model given by Revered Sikh Gurus : Sacrifice your petty interests for the larger good of the people* . Will these new leaders follow the Gurus ?
*ADDRESS MY FEARS*
*Drunken CM.* Nothing wrong in taking a drink, so long as you don't loose control over yourself. But the first videos of the incumbent CM, Bhagwant Mann, an award winning Comedian from Patiala University, are already out. Totally sozzled with "Angreji Daaroo", he is seen tottering and reeling under the influence of liquor, unable to stabilize under his own two feet. Punjab Police commandos are then seen to hold him as he looses his balance, before somehow getting into the official car.
*Will the Govt files be signed after 8 p.m. now onwards ?* Will sensitive decisions be taken now at evening booze mehfils? A large window of exploitation for anti national elements has been opened through this perennial addiction of the CM. How will Punjab save itself from such a Decision Maker ? *Who will control the remote button after 7 p.m. every evening ?* And what about the morning hangovers ?
*VOTER OF PUNJAB IS NOW ASKING THESE QUESTIONS THAT CONCERN HIS FUTURE.*
IS IT TOO EARLY TO ANSWER ?
OR IS IT TOO LATE TO ASK NOW !
